Earlier this year, I took advantage of an opportunity to travel to Israel with Simon Business School on a Global Entrepreneurship Immersion with Professor Dennis Kessler and 31 other members of the Simon community. My attendance was made possible because of an international study grant awarded by Dr. Jylla Tearte and The Tearte Family Foundation during the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management’s (CGSM) 51st Annual Orientation Program (OP) and Career Forum in Atlanta, GA in June 2017.
The goal of this immersion was two-fold: to learn about the world of entrepreneurship and to deliver a solution for an Israeli-based startup company. My team of colleagues and I connected with our clients, two Israeli startup founders, in order to learn about the mission and high-level goals of their company. This enabled us to strategically leverage industry research, university resources, and successfully navigate cross-border constraints. Over a period of two months, we framed the issue, identified key stakeholders and governing bodies, analyzed the current state of the organization and the industry, communicated findings, and delivered a U.S. go-to-market strategy.
